“I have received my all from God. Oh, that I could return my all to God.” – David Brainerd
This quote describes how I have decided to live my life. Everything I have and am capable of doing is a gift from God and I just want to see him glorified. I am a Digital Media Studies major at Lee University and am minoring in Advertising and Anthropology. I want to make impacting films that show the lost there is more to live for and inspire believers to never forget what they have found in Christ. I love other cultures and desire to travel the world. If nothing else, I want to be known as someone who loves like Jesus. I am imperfect and in need of his grace daily, however I have never tasted of a more beautiful or excellent way than that of his love. It is my deepest conviction to make that love known to all.
Some of my interests: I’m an adventurer. I like to travel. Photography and filming are two of my passions. Most of all I love being with people.
This is a blog that will look at the compelling lifestyle of simplicity. Recently, I have been intrigued by the idea of tossing off the unnecessary things in life in order to live a life that shows “less is more”. This is my way of questioning all that I have been taught by our culture, environment, family, and peers about what I need and what I am entitled to having in order to be happy. I am by no means living a completely simplistic lifestyle currently; I am happily enjoying all the comforts of living in a nice air conditioned apartment, eating three meals a day, taking showers with hot water, and a closet full of clothes. The list could go on and on of all the things I take for granted everyday that I am so fortunate and blessed to have. That’s why I want to gradually start stripping away some of the common comforts that I have grown so accustomed to. I feel that I have taken on a sense of entitlement because I’ve always had these “necessities” in my life. I have grown up in a culture that says what you have is never enough, you need more, you must keep up with the trends. This blog will show how I am going to attempt a life of simplicity by sharing my personal practices along the way, as well as tips I have found on this topic.
